8:13 pm - good music for free

princher
hey, if anyone is near Morgantown, WV (it's in the corner by the mason-dixon line), you should come to a show this saturday. The band playing is AXUM. I think their music resembles A Perfect Circle or Incubus. They do excellent covers, but their originals are what truly makes the show worthwhile. These guys are great musicians and entertainers, and it's defintely worth your time to come by.

The show is at the WVU Mountainlair, on Saturday, March 6, at 10pm. if anyone is interested, please let me know, you need to be with a student in order to enter.

*peace*

Hey everyone, I’m doing a project for my math class about file sharing and music and the like. I’d appreciate it if you could fill out this short survey for me. Thanks.
1. First name:
2. Age:
3. What type of genre do you listen to most?
4. On average, how many songs would you say you download per month?
5. How many music albums do you buy per month?

11:32 am - She likes big words and playing pretend....

dracsdaughter
Sometimes I like to pretend that I am in various bands, just cuz I thought up a cool or funny name.

If anyone wants to join any of my various fake bands, let me know.

Lost in the Translation:
A sappy Emo band that focuses on how sad the members r over stuff that happened in grade school. Sometimes we break out into tears right on stage and have to cancel shows.
(Positions open: drummer, bongos, singer, guitarist, bassist [I play the keys])

The Crotchettes:
An angry chick punk band. Every song is about how much men suck and girls rock. U have to be able to look bad ass all the time and sneer while playing trashy guitar riffs. Only females apply please. (Positions open: bassist, drummer [I am guitarist and Melissa the Flea is singer])

Super Spandex Cats Over Broadway:
An over the top glam rock band who r always flaunting spandex and glitter, winter or summer, rain or shine. The songs don't make too much sense, since they were mostly written when the members were under the influence of one substance or another. Androgyny is a must. (Positions open: singer, drummer, keyboardist, guitarist [I'm on bass])

Joystik Killas:
One of those rap/metal bands everyone loves. The members have to put some sort of ridiculous make-up on, usually something clown or skull like, and we have to act like hardcore ghetto-ganstas 24/7. Is u down or is u a punk? (Positions open: all [u can never have too many members])

That is all for now. Feel free to reply if u wanna join in, or if u have a fake band of your own! Thanx music fans!

current mood: contemplative

I know this has to be the typical band-girlfriend thing to do, but I can't get enough of Chasing Sirens. =0) Check 'em out! If you're in Northern California, come see them play! (There's 4 shows in the next two weeks alone!)

Hey everyone!
I just joined and would like to promote my boys Indexcase. This is a great band for anyone interesting in any music that is a combo of talented qualities. They're unlike most other bands but are on the borderline of rock, if i'd have to categorize them... They hail from the midwest.. indianola, iowa to be exact, and are starting off strong.

Maybe some of you have heard about the Amp Six packs? If not.. they're 6 minute videos that Amp/Mountain Dew/Pepsi help film for bands.. they include music, interviews.. etc.

Starting June 16th the AMP Video Brawl (bands compete for commercial spots on MTV & MTV2) will begin running. On that very same day Index Case's AMP Video 6Pack (which you can watch now at www.indexcase.com) will be posted at www.MTV2.com

There are 11 other bands that will have their 6Packs posted as well. For one month, you can go to http://www.MTV2.com and watch as many of the 6Packs as you want. You will then have the option of voting for whichever one you think is the best....AND YOU CAN VOTE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT!!!

At the end of the one month promotion, MTV will tally the votes and whoever comes in first place gets a full budget to produce their own video which will go into rotation on MTV and MTV2. The band would also receive a 30 second interview to air each time before the video plays as well as an opening slot on the upcoming live performance MTV show called "2 Dollar Bill".

Please check out the band.. http://www.indexcase.com , watch the 6pack.. and vote @ mtv2.com

If you like what you hear, spread the word & vote as many times as you want. thanks!

2:37 am - Check it Out!

bandie528
Today, Wed, April 23, visit valemmich.com and you'll find a new song on the radio player called "Make It Up." It was a song that was recorded during the Slow Down Kid sessions but it never made the album. It didn't fit the vibe of the rest of the disc. This is the only day that you will be able to listen to the song.

If you like it after hearing it, come to Val's show at Arlene Grocery the next night Thursday, April 24 and we'll give you a free copy. Unfortunately, the show is for ages 21 and up . For those of you in the area who want to come but can't because you are under age, let us know. We'll try and work something out. Visit the Diary page to read what Val has to say about the song.

I'm listening to it right now, and it's really good. Val is an amazing musician, and has been compared to Ben Kweller, Pete Yorn, Bright Eyes, and Pedro the Lion, among others. I highly recommend him. Comment if you listen!
